Radish "De dix-huit Jours".
The variety is ultra-early ripening (the ripening period is 18-20 days from germination). The root crop is cylindrical, pink-red with a white tip, weighing 18-25 g. The flesh is white, juicy and of mild taste. Used for growing in the open and protected ground.
1 gramm = 100-120 seeds.
Agricultural technology.
For sowing radishes, choose a site that emerges early from under the snow, with light, highly fertile soil.
Any vegetable crops, except for cruciferous plants, can be predecessors of radishes. Fertilizers are added to the soil before sowing.
Radishes are sown at several times: at the end of April (the bed is covered with film until shoots appear), then, if necessary, sowing is carried out at intervals of 2-2.5 weeks, for winter storage, late-ripening varieties are sown in early August.
Seeds are sown in rows with row spacing of 10-12 cm, a distance of 2-3 cm between seeds to a depth of 1-1.5 cm. After shoots appear, it is necessary to regularly loosen the soil and keep it moist.
In the middle of summer, with the longest daylight hours, it is recommended to shade the radish plantings.
To obtain an earlier or later harvest, radishes are grown in protected soil (in spring, seeds are sown in early March, and in autumn - in early September).

* Helpful advice.
Young radish leaves contain much more vitamins and minerals than root crops, so put not only “roots”, but also “tops” in salads.
Radish leaves can be dried and added as a vitamin seasoning to soups and main dishes. It is also good to use them when canning various vegetables to give them pungency and flavour.
